Duluth Businesses Celebrate Anniversaries at Twin Ports Life DOT COM

Hi, this is Ter Scott and welcome to the “good happenings” this month in the Twin Ports. Be sure to click on our blog link and read about the events that are happening this month and yes, be sure to visit our advertisers and tell them you appreciate them and what they mean to our community. Also if you like photography or love to write, we can sure use you to help with this site. Just click on the “We’re Looking for Writers” box at the right or simply use our contact form.

Well, this month I have a question for you.

Do businesses celebrate birthdays or anniversaries?

Either way, if your business is celebrating a milestone of being in business 1, 5, 10, 20, 25, 30 or more years, we want to help you tell the Twin Ports about it!

You’ll get a listing on our Business Anniversary page for just a buck or choose to have both a listing and a link to your company website for just two bucks (which goes to charity).

Next, we’ll run a free ad for a full three months at no cost to you! Yes, there is a catch to getting your free ad to be displayed in full view of the many monthly visitors to Twin Ports Life. Here it is! You just have to email us saying what you’ve done in the past to celebrate a company anniversary and what you plan to do this time; that’s it! Just go to our page: www.twinportslife.com/businessanniversary to get your listing and you’ll see details there about getting your free ad!
Who would you choose for the Twin Ports "Person of the Month"? "Business of the Month"? "Non-Profit of the Month"?

Finally, our intent here at Twin Ports Life is to promote “good happenings” and here’s your chance to get involved. Do you know of someone you’d like to suggest as the “Twin Ports Person” of the month; the “Twin Ports Company” of the month, and/or the “Twin Ports Non-Profit” of the month? Each month we will review suggested candidates from your submissions, select one from each category and contact them to be interviewed for Twin Ports Life. They will be highlighted with their Twin Ports Life page, a mention in our blog, and possibly promoted elsewhere such as YouTube and a local cable channel. To submit your suggested candidate(s) please use our general contact form and state your suggested person, company or nonprofit giving your “why” in just two sentences. Leave us your email so we can get back to you.

That’s it for this month.

Make it a great day!

Ter

PS. The voiceover for Twin Ports Life DOT COM is “yours truly”. I’d be glad to create “voice” for your website, or other company need. Get more information at my site: www.terscott.com/voice.

March is Here in the Twin Ports

Welcome to March in the Twin Ports!

It’s a great time of year as we say goodbye to a great winter with a fair amount of snow for those who like to play in it (intentionally; not with your car, if you know what I mean), and we can soon say “hello” to spring.

In March, we’ll all “spring ahead” on Sunday the 10th as daylight savings time begins. And Easter arrives early this year. It’s Sunday the 31st which is two Sundays after St. Patrick’s Day.

Be sure to see our events page to see what’s happening on these holidays and the other days of the month. (We are looking for someone to head up our events page to keep it current. Just let us know of your interest at our contact page).

Our theme this month is “Saving the Green”. Check out our March page to save on products and services from participating area advertisers.

If you are an advertiser and want details about advertising within the events page, on the monthly themed page, or any other page in Twin Ports Life ©, contact us!

As a gift to our readers this month, I’m offering my favorite Irish Stew Recipe. It’s actually a “package” of things; a recipe with jokes, (also one without jokes), more Irish jokes, Irish sayings, and also two coloring pages. The price is only $4.99 with $2.50 going to charity. Click here to get it by mail; quantities are limited.

May the luck of the Irish be with you!

February 2013 in Duluth MN

Welcome to "Good Happenings" for February in
the
Twin Ports.
Hello all, and Happy February!

This month is full of birthday celebrations that include some
famous people like our USA presidents and others. This month
happens to be a favorite of mine because today, being the first,
my youngest granddaughter celebrates her first year in this
world! Later this month, her Grandpa “T” celebrates his … well,
we won’t go there. We’ll just say that I’m not as old as George
Washington or Abraham Lincoln! Dictionary.com defines
“famous” as having a widespread reputation, usually of a
favorable nature; renowned; and celebrated.
This month Twin Ports Life will make you and your Business
More Famous…
We’re all famous to some degree and my plan here at Twin
Ports Life is to help make you and your business even more
famous with a free 3 –month display ad; so you’ll get that
“widespread reputation and it will be of a favorable nature,
renowned, and celebrated. Why? Because your business
advertising is on our Twin Ports Life webpages! Don’t forget
that for a minimal fee you can have your ad linked to your
website which improves your sites ranking in the search
engines.
Think of this as my "birthday present to you"!This offer is only available to those who contact us before
February 20th (my birthdate) so do so now at our
webpage. If
you have questions include them in your comments. Sorry, no
phone calls please; only communicate via the email form
provided.

Make it a great day; and a great month!
Ter
PS. Here’s a picture of my granddaughter; isn’t she a doll?

Make it a great day!

Bentleyville Shines Brighter.

Bentleyville shines brighter this year as attendees bring a non perishable food item and/or unwrapped toys for others. Also, the sponsors go "all out" in bringing this event to everyone "free of charge"!
I don’t know about you but as a kid, everything seemed bigger, and the lights seemed “brighter” at Christmas. This is a spectacular sight for young and old and I especially enjoy reliving the joy of the holiday through the eyes of my grandkids as they walk (or are held) and look in amazement at all the festive lights!

For more details, visit: http://www.bentleyvilleusa.org/.

Have a great festive holiday this year.

And don’t forget, there still is time to get your own handwritten letter and hand addressed envelope from Santa at: www.terscott.com/santa. It’s a great keepsake that will be appreciated for many years!

Make it a great day!

Ter

Terrific. Energizing. Results!
We thank all of the sponsors: http://twinportsbizbuzz.blogspot.com/.

Highlighting TWIN PORTS LIFE DOT COM Advertiser: Poplar Auto

I'm pleased to see that Poplar Auto is advertising in Twin Ports Life DOT Com

I've known the owners for a very long time as they've continually ordered imprinted promotional products from me throughout the years such as advertising calendars, pens etc. I remember years ago when I had to handwrite all the orders and my capital “L” looked like a capital “C” so when they got their pens, instead of the imprint being: POPLAR AUTO, it was “POPCAR AUTO”. Because they had given so many away before noticing the error, and having many people saving the pens because they thought that it would be a “keepsake” someday they didn’t make me redo the order. I’m thinking that they are just great people.

That’s probably why they’ve been in business now for over 25 years! Wow, that is a milestone. I know they do great work too. Poplar is not far from the Twin Ports and I know many people who live in Poplar and work in Superior or Duluth so when you need collision repair enjoy a short drive and get the work done there.

Here’s a link to their website. Tell ‘em Ter Scott sent you!

You can see their ad at www.twinportslife.com/autos and also on the Announcement/Events page.

Front Page of June 2012 Twin Ports Life

Welcome to June in the Twin Ports. There’s plenty of summertime fun; even before the official
summer solstice get to the Twin Ports on June 20th.

Everyone is running either to Duluth or in Duluth this month.
There is a cougar chase (let me clarify; it is the Congdon
School Mascot run now in its fourth year which also includes
the Kitty “K”; a short run just for kids). There is the Annual Garry
Bjorklund Half Marathon, and the big one… the one that brings
people from all over the world: 36th Annual Grandma’s
Marathon with all of its festivities that go with it.

If you like the Antique Road Show type of thing and don’t mind
driving a bit south of the Twin Ports, Moose Lake Historical
Area Society is offering an opportunity to have your antique
appraised.  Later in the month, the St. Louis County Historical
Society is having Antique Appraisal at the Depot.

Like to laugh or make people laugh? Sir Benedict's Tavern on
the Lake, and
Beaners Central Concert Coffeehouse have
Open Mic nights.

Strolling around Canal Park is always fun, but now you can
enjoy great art too. Check out Blue Lake Gallery, Sivertson's
Gallery and Waters of Superior; all featuring special artists. .
June is Dad’s month so many places offer “Dad’s Day
Specials”. Enjoy
“Wild About Dad” at the zoo, and later at
Zinema 2 enjoy a Father’s Day Brunch and the Duke on the big
screen.

I know a bit about art, and I know what I like; and what I like is
the Annual Park Point Art Fair. And I like Rhubarb when it’s
converted from a pesky plant to a delicious pie at CHUM's 8th
Annual Rhubarb Festival.

As we say “farewell” to June, we can also wave to the
Rhinestone Cowboy at his farewell tour at Big Top
Chautauqua.

With that, I say “farewell” until next month. There is a more
complete listing on the
blog. Also use links to the right of
places where you can get more information about anything
Twin Ports.
